Tissue Machines Shift Supervisor - Sofidel America
Sofidel America, a global leader in tissue product manufacturing for domestic and hygienic use, is committed to sustainability, innovation, and operational excellence. We are seeking a Tissue Machines Shift Supervisor to oversee shift operations, personnel management, and production efficiency in our tissue machine department. This role is responsible for ensuring safety, quality, productivity, cost control, and equipment maintenance, while leading and developing a team to meet operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and develop personnel, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and production standards.
  • Conduct safety meetings, incident investigations, and ensure adherence to PPE, Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space Entry, and chemical handling policies.
  • Monitor and manage tissue machine product schedules to meet or exceed production targets.
  • Identify and troubleshoot equipment issues to prevent costly downtime and improve efficiency.
  • Maintain strong labor relations, address shift vacancies, and handle disciplinary situations as needed.
  • Foster a positive work environment, ensuring effective communication across departments and teams.
  • Maintain employee performance records and conduct job evaluations to drive engagement and productivity.

Requirements:
  • Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5 years of operational and/or mechanical experience in a paper mill or converting facility preferred.
  • 3 years of direct supervisory experience in an industrial setting preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.
  • Knowledge of quality systems and testing methods used in the industry.
  • Experience with maintenance management systems is a plus.
  • Fast-paced manufacturing setting with exposure to noise and machinery.
