The Opportunity
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is seeking enthusiastic and engaging Summer Camp Teachers to support our K-12 Education Outreach programs. This role is responsible for delivering STEM-based curriculum and creating a dynamic, safe, and engaging classroom environment for camp participants.
The Summer Camp Teacher works closely with program leadership and staff to ensure high-quality instruction, student supervision, and overall camp success.
Key Responsibilities:
Instruction & Classroom Leadership
  • Deliver STEM-focused curriculum to camp participants
  • Lead and manage classroom activities in a safe and engaging manner
  • Supervise campers and ensure adherence to university policies
  • Coordinate materials, supplies, and classroom setup
  • Support students who are ill or injured until a guardian arrives
  • Collaborate with staff on safety concerns and student needs
  • Assist with camp logistics, sch edules, and daily operations

Staff Support
  • Supervise and guide camp counselors in the classroom
  • Provide direction to support student learning and activities

Parent Communication
  • Serve as a representative of Embry-Riddle
  • Communicate with parents regarding student progress and experience

Preparation & Materials
  • Gather and organize supplies needed for curriculum delivery

Compensation:
These temporary positions will run from June 7 through July 31.
The hourly rate for this position is up to $30 per hour. The final offer will take into consideration the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience, as well as applicable state regulations, internal equity, and business needs, and may fall outside of the stated range.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 1-3 years of related experience (teaching, youth programs, or customer service)

Required Skills & Abilities
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Ability to engage and instruct students in STEM topics
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Customer service-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and leadership
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and general technology

Additional Requirements
  • Valid Florida driver's license (or ability to obtain)
  • Ability to pass a background check (required for working with minors)
  • Ability to maintain a professional and positive environment
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
