Job Description

Type of Patients on Unit: Respiratory, Medical Telemetry, some surgical, sepsis, DKA, Altered Mental Status, Failure to Thrive, Respiratory Failure, and most any acute on chronic medical condition

Call Requirements: None

Float Requirements: yes – IMC RN’s may float to another IMC level of care unit within MMC. IMC RN’s will float to med/surg as needed. Med/surg RN’s may float to another med/surg unit with similar level of care. Floating is based on unit need and skill as well as the needs of nursing units.

Number of Beds:  24

Patient Ratios: Day shift- goal 1:4, max 1:5. Night shift- goal 1:5, max 1:6

Equipment: PLUM, Stryker.

EMR: EPIC

Requirements:

1-2YRS+ Exp Working in Specialty 

1-2YRS+ Exp Working Only in Acute Care Setting 

ACTIVE BLS (AHA)

Must Be IMC Trained

Must Have Skills/Experience: IMC RN’s must have Vent experience. All RN’s must have experience with tracheostomy’s and ready/interpreting telemetry strips
