Interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Credit Union

Location: Glendora, CA
Schedule: Full-Time | 100% On-Site
Employment Type: Interim / Temporary (Potential Temp-to-Hire)
Compensation: $206,827 - $295,000 annually plus bonus

Immediate Executive Leadership Opportunity

Legacy Career Solutions is conducting a confidential search for an experienced Interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on behalf of a well-established credit union located in Glendora, California.

Due to an executive leave of absence, our client is seeking an accomplished financial leader who can step into this critical role immediately. The successful candidate will provide executive leadership for the finance organization, guide the institution through an upcoming NCUA regulatory audit beginning September 8, and help drive financial strategy and operational excellence through the end of the year.

This assignment offers the opportunity to make an immediate impact and may transition into a permanent executive position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all finance and accounting operations.
  • Direct the organization through an upcoming NCUA regulatory examination and related audit activities.
  • Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning.
  • Manage asset/liability management (ALM), liquidity, investments, and capital planning.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, accounting, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Partner with the executive leadership team and Board of Directors on strategic financial initiatives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team.
  • Evaluate financial risks and recommend strategic solutions that support organizational objectives.
  • Strengthen internal controls and promote operational excellence across the finance function.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Executive finance leadership experience as a Chief Financial Officer, EVP Finance, SVP Finance, Controller, or similar senior leadership role.
  • Credit union experience strongly preferred. Banking or other regulated financial institution experience may also be considered.
  • Experience leading NCUA, FDIC, OCC, or comparable regulatory examinations and external audits.
  • Extensive knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, ALM, investments, liquidity management, and internal controls.
  • Proven executive leadership with the ability to quickly assess situations, make sound decisions, and build confidence across the organization.
  • Outstanding communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
