Temp/PRN Dental Hygienist

Maple City Health Care Center (MCHCC) is a Federally Qualified Health Center dedicated to improving our community's health by making quality comprehensive healthcare accessible to all. We strive for a healthy community where everyone is cared for.

The Temp/PRN Dental Hygienist is a member of the Dental team that includes the Director of Dental, Dentist, Dental Hygienists, Dental Assistants and Front Office. They support the mission and values of Maple City Health Care Center (MCHCC) by providing quality care in a team environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs patient screening procedures
  • Educates patients and caregivers
  • Performs age-appropriate prophylactic treatments
  • Performs periodontal treatments
  • Exposes and interprets dental x-rays
  • Documents dental and periodontal charting
  • Maintains supplies, equipment and inventory
  • Other duties that support our shared work, as assigned
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Bilingual: Spanish/English strongly preferred
  • Commitment to work collaboratively within the organization
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills

Education and Experience:

  • Indiana Dental Hygienist Licensure
  • 2,000 documented hours working under the supervision of a dentist
  • One to three years of previous experience as a dental hygienist preferred

Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to perform prolonged or extensive standing and walking
  • Ability to perform considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching
  • Ability to perform prolonged periods of time in front of a computer
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this work
