Job description

Carney, Sandoe & Associates, an education recruitment firm, is currently seeking a Spanish Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year at a Boarding and Catholic school in La Porte, Indiana.


Note: Boarding school positions may include on-campus housing and meals (room and board) depending on the role and school.

Spanish Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Teach four sections of Spanish at various proficiency levels for upper school students.
  • Providing conversational classes where pronunciation and important words and phrases are taught.
  • Conducting research on teaching methods, materials, and language games that can be used in class.
  • Scheduling and preparing students for oral and written examinations.
  • Monitoring student's progress by writing up reports and grading assessments.
  • Organizing feedback sessions with students and their parents if applicable.
  • Organizing fun events where students can showcase their Spanish language skills.
  • Serve as an advisor for students ensuring student success.
  • Supervise at least 2 extra-curricular activities/sports for students.


Spanish Teacher Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Education or related required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven written and verbal proficiency in Spanish.
  • At least 3 years of previous teaching experience.
  • No teaching license or credential is required.
  • Strong interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication skills.
  • A desire to be involved in extra-curricular activities as well as the broader school community.
  • Well-organized and able to handle multiple responsibilities.
  • Detail-oriented and resilient.
