Job description

Overview

As a Snowcat Operator you are responsible for preparing and maintaining the skiing surface that is safe and functional for skiers and snowboards of all skill levels using grooming vehicles. As a Boyne Mountain team member, there are so many awesome perks for you to take advantage of, such as:  ski passes, golf passes, waterpark passes, and discounts for food, beverages, retail, daycare, and so much more! Responsibilities

The Snowcat Operator's typical job functions included:

  • Operate all slope-grooming equipment
  • Building and maintaining Terrain parks, Winch cat operations, Free cat operation
  • Maintaining mountain skiing surfaces to the finest level possible
  • Safely operating a turbo-charged diesel powered snow groomer with hydrostatic drives, 12 way blade and multi-function rototiller rear implements
  • Operating all machine functions, such as blade controls, rear implement controls and steering
  • Minimizing down time through basis preventative maintenance, cleanliness and up-keep of machines
  • Covering rocks and obstacles on slopes; moving snow from low wear areas to high wear areas
  • Communicating as needed to shop mechanics concerning mechanical problems

Qualifications

This position may be for you if:

  • 3 - 6 years of experience
  • You are at least 18 years old
  • You possess a valid driver's license
  • You have achieved a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • You are available to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • You have one to three months related experience and/or training
