POSITION SUMMARY The PART-TIME RECRUITMENT COORDINATOR is a temporary part-time position accountable for implementing effective recruitment events within their targeted region to recruit new youth members and adult volunteers. The role requires collaborating with council staff and volunteers, utilizing proven sales techniques to capture and convert leads, and conducting engaging Girl Scout activities for girls and their caregivers/parents. The position involves local travel and primarily evening and weekend work hours to meet organizational membership goals and objectives. Recruitment coordinators will be responsible for hosting recruitment events as needed in assigned regions with limited local travel. They are responsible for providing quality Girl Scout recruitment experiences according to established guidelines. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES Complete GSOFCT Staff Training modules and clearly understand the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. Promote Girl Scouting and increase awareness throughout the local community via recruitment sessions to form new troops, recruit adult volunteers, and register new girl members. Deliver engaging and educational hands-on activities for girls and caregivers at events. Successfully recruit youth members to join through on-site registration or through generating qualified leads. Recruit adult members to serve in volunteer roles in their community including troop leadership positions. Assist customers in completing online registrations and troubleshoot registration issues as needed. Perform administrative tasks to aid in the preparation and execution of recruitment events as well as post-event follow-up for membership conversions. Collaborate with designated membership staff, volunteers, and other council team members to fulfill event goals and assist in recruitment efforts. Communicate the Girl Scout mission, including the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, its benefits, and its impact on girls and their communities. Represent the Girl Scout brand through consistent, professional presence and communication methods. Promote diversity, equity, inclusion and access by ensuring Girl Scouting is open and welcoming to all girls and adults. Ensure compliance with all council policies, procedures, and guidelines. Adapt to shift in assignments, priorities, and schedules as needed to align with organizational objectives. Additional duties may be assigned to support the successful implementation of council goals. EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE High School Diploma preferred or equivalent experience. Bachelorโ€™s degree in Human Services, Education, Hospitality or related field is preferred. Experience with proven recruitment and/or sales results preferred. Experience working with youth. Experience with Girl Scouts preferred. Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred. Skills and Competencies Reliable transportation along with documentation of a valid driversโ€™ license, required automobile insurance and safe driving record. Reliability and commitment to the Girl Scout mission and team. Willingness to lead a group event and to engage potential members in conversation. Knowledge of, or ability to learn about, the Girl Scout organization and current issues affecting girls and young women. Strong attention to detail. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to be an effective team player. Strong oral communication skills. Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines successfully. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Computer literacy, including Outlook, Teams, and Microsoft Word/Excel. ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS Willingness and ability to travel within council jurisdiction. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends. Subscribe to the principles of the Girl Scout Movement and become a registered member of GSUSA. Successfully pass background investigation. Represent GSOFCT in professional Girl Scout attire. Regional travel required from assigned service center to program sites. Valid Connecticut driverโ€™s license. Reliable transportation with proof of liability coverage of personal vehicle. Physical ability to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects up to 25 lbs. Sit or stand for long periods of time. Ability to maneuver around an event setting, including set up, facilitation and cleanup. WORK ENVIRONMENT Work in community settings such as schools, libraries, and community centers. This is a remote work schedule that includes visits to the main office (10%) and travel (90%) within your assigned region.
