Job description

Vivo HealthStaff is recruiting for a Locum Tenens Primary Care Physician in Las Vegas, Nevada. This is a full-time, temporary clinic-based assignment starting in late May.
We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Family Medicine or Internal Medicine physician to provide primary care services in a Medicare HMO clinic setting. The physician will oversee one nurse practitioner and manage a panel of geriatric patients with chronic health conditions. This assignment includes two clinic locations with the majority of time spent at the main site.
Position Details:
  • Job Title: Primary Care Physician - Locum Tenens
  • Location: Las Vegas, Nevada
  • Start Date: May 28 - June 2, 2025
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
  • Contract Type: Temporary (Locum)
  • Patient Volume: Up to 20 patients per day
  • Local candidates only - travel and lodging not provided

Work Sites:
  • Primary Location (4 days/week): Las Vegas, NV 89109
  • Secondary Location (1 day/week): Smoke Ranch, Las Vegas, NV

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care to geriatric patients
  • Manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and kidney disease
  • Supervise and support a nurse practitioner working in the clinic
  • Document care in the EMR system in a timely and accurate manner
  • Collaborate with clinic staff to ensure effective patient care delivery

Requirements:
  • MD or DO degree
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine or Preventive Medicine
  • Active and unrestricted Nevada medical license
  • DEA registration and prescribing authority
  • Experience in geriatric primary care strongly preferred
