Job Title: Procurement SpecialistJob Description

The role of a Procurement Specialist involves leading and managing sourcing strategies within defined categories. The specialist will engage with senior stakeholders to ensure the effective procurement of goods and services, providing expert advice on sourcing and procurement processes.

Responsibilities
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand business requirements and implement category strategies for sourcing goods and services.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of business drivers and their impact on business strategy.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on procurement policies, processes, and best practices.
  • Manage key sourcing activities for business projects, ensuring timely delivery and appropriate risk management.
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key strategic suppliers and identify potential new partners.
  • Monitor compliance with the sourcing process and act as an internal consultant throughout each stage.
  • Develop category or sub-category strategy, plans, and sourcing pipelines.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure the delivery of datacenter equipment to storage and site locations.
  • Track delivery schedules and execute change orders for contracts.
Essential Skills
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Understanding of procurement and sourcing techniques and supply chain management.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, or related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in procurement or purchasing.
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as Excel, Teams, Outlook, and Word (5 years experience).
  • Experience in supply chain management (3 years).
  • Experience in project management (3 years).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in procurement for a construction company is ideal.
  • Performance will be measured based on execution speed and effectiveness.
  • Ability to support procurement activities and manage equipment deliveries.
Work Environment

Located in the Lynchburg/LaCrosse area, this position requires a 40-hour workweek. Necessary equipment includes a monitor, keyboard, headset, mouse, Class 2 safety helmet, and appropriate safety gear such as gloves and glasses. Candidates should be prepared to use Bluebeam and P6 software if experienced. The work requires adherence to safety protocols, including wearing composite toe work boots and a reflective jacket suitable for cold and wet weather.

This is a Contract position based out of Boydton, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
