Temporary Pest Control Coordinator
San Leandro, CA 94577

SUMMARY

  • The Temporary Pest Control Coordinator will lead a focused pest management improvement initiative within a food manufacturing facility.
  • This project-based role will serve as the primary liaison between the facility and the contracted pest control provider, driving execution of key pest prevention strategies and ensuring timely completion of corrective actions.
  • The ideal candidate will have a scientific background, strong project management skills, and preferably experience in food manufacturing, food safety, environmental health, or quality systems.
  • Success in this role will require a proactive, results-driven individual who can effectively influence cross-functional teams, manage priorities, and build productive relationships with both internal stakeholders and external service providers.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinating facility pest control improvement plans, overseeing the installation of additional traps and bait stations, supporting exterior treatment programs, and partnering on landscaping enhancements designed to reduce pest pressure.
  • The coordinator will maintain a relentless focus on action item completion, accountability, and program effectiveness.
  • The manager is looking for a candidate with a minimum of 1 year of experience.
  • This position will conduct routine inspections throughout the facility, including exterior grounds, trailer yards, dock areas, case rooms, storage locations, and production environments.
  • The individual will identify signs of pest activity, structural deficiencies, sanitation concerns, and opportunities for pest exclusion, while ensuring necessary repairs and corrective actions are promptly addressed.
  • Working closely with the Quality team, Maintenance, Operations, Sanitation, and the pest control provider, this role will strengthen the site's Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program, improve audit readiness, and support the facility's food safety and quality objectives through effective monitoring, communication, and continuous improvement.
