Position Summary:
The Perfusionist plays a critical role in patient care by operating and monitoring extracorporeal circulation and blood-testing equipment during surgical procedures at Johns Hopkins Hospital. This position works closely with the surgical team, supports education around perfusion practices, and may serve as a clinical instructor.
Location: Johns Hopkins Hospital Baltimore, MD
Schedule: Rotating schedule 5 out of 7 days a week; will include rotation for Holidays, On- Call, and Weekends

Responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor extracorporeal circulation and blood-testing equipment during surgical procedures at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
  • Educate hospital staff and visitors on perfusion practices.
  • Serve as a clinical instructor for students during clinical rotations (optional).
  • Participate in non-clinical duties as assigned by the Chief Perfusionist.
  • Fulfill on-call and weekend responsibilities as scheduled by the Chief Perfusionist.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
  • Graduate of an American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP)-accredited perfusion program.
  • Current Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) or certification-eligible.
  • A minimum of 1 year of Pediatric experience in the field
  • Holds a valid Maryland state perfusion license in accordance with the Maryland Board of Physicians.
