Job description

Temporary Part-Time Sales Associate, Audrey's Museum Store
The Skirball Cultural Center seeks a qualified Temporary Part-Time Sales Associate to serve in Audrey's Museum Store. Reporting to the Store Manager, this position is responsible for helping the store meet and exceed sales goals by providing exceptional customer service. This is a temporary, part-time position, ending by September 6, 2026.
Pay Rate: $19 per hour
Responsibilities:
  • Provide professional customer service and assistance to all visitors, engage customers on the sales floor, answer the telephone and respond to voice mails
  • Operate POS System, ensuring accuracy of all transactions
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the store's merchandise, the Skirball, and its exhibitions
  • Restock sales floor, maintaining merchandising plan designed by the Store Manager, always maintain a tidy and clean sales floor
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Assist with store inventory counts throughout the year

Qualifications, Experience, and Attributes:
  • 1-2 years of retail experience
  • Enthusiastic and friendly with a genuine desire to provide outstanding service
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office products (including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and OneDrive) and Shopify Point of Sale or similar software
  • Proven ability to organize tasks and resolve problems, exercise good judgment, take initiative, multitask, and manage a changing and varied workload
  • Comfort working with families
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively by phone
  • Availability to work weekdays, weekends, and occasional evenings

Physical and environmental demands of the job: Physical ability to stand/walk for long periods of time alternating with long periods of desk work at a computer. Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 30 pounds. A full range of body motion is required on the job to include frequent sitting, bending, stooping, crouching, lifting, carrying, walking, and standing.
