Job Type: Temporary, Part-Time
About Annapolis Area Christian School Athletics
At Annapolis Area Christian School (AACS), our Athletics Program is more than just sports-it's a vital extension of our Christ-centered education. We are committed to fostering a competitive spirit while guiding our students to reflect Christ-like values on and off the field. Our dedicated Christian coaches and administrators are passionate about glorifying Jesus Christ through every game, practice, and lesson. By participating in AACS athletics, students not only develop their physical talents but also learn the importance of teamwork, self-sacrifice, and graciousness in both victory and defeat.
Position Overview
AACS is currently seeking assistant coaches for our varsity Football program. We have the following positions available:
  • Defensive Varsity Assistant Coach
  • Offensive Varsity Assistant Coach

The varsity team consists of approximately 40 athletes and a coaching staff of 10. Our team competes in the Mid-Atlantic Interscholastic Athletic Association against a mix of local public and private high schools.
Key Responsibilities
  • Implement a strategic long-term vision for exceptional team achievement
  • Develop and lead effective practices focused on skill development
  • Collaborate as part of a cohesive and highly effective coaching staff
  • Ensure all safety regulations and protocols are upheld
  • Serve as a role model and mentor for student-athletes

Schedule
  • Season: August through November
  • Practice: Monday-Friday, 3:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m.
  • Games: Typically Friday or Saturday
  • Compensation: Seasonal stipend based on experience and hours fulfilled

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of successful elite coaching experience at the high school or college level
  • Proficiency with football fundamentals, strategy, AACS and MIAA rules, sportsmanship, and character development
  • Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to inspire and effectively collaborate
  • Valid Maryland driver's license in good standing and willingness to drive a minibus on occasion
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency with technology (film review, email, etc.)
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification (renewed every two years)
  • Completion of AACS Vector Safety Training course
  • High degree of integrity; all AACS staff are role models for students

About Annapolis Area Christian School
Annapolis Area Christian School (AACS) is a Christ-centered independent school serving students from Kindergarten through 12th grade across four campuses in Anne Arundel County, Maryland.
