Description
Semi-skilled employee who under direct supervision safely assists with maintenance, installation and repair of pump systems and associated equipment.
  • Assists mechanics with maintenance activities including the removal, repair and installation of pumps, pipelines, fire water systems, interceptor wells, potable water systems, hydraulic systems and their associated parts
  • Assists with and performs mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance on pumping systems by checking bearings "grease and purge", motor temp, coupling temp, adjusting packing, checking for visual and vibration signs of breakdown ext
  • Responsible for maintaining work orders and performing work area inspections and housekeeping
  • May perform welding (Stick, Mig, Intershield, Drisco Fusion) and basic fabrication of brackets, headers and other related components
  • May operate equipment such as: trucks, bobcats, forklifts, mobile cranes, backhoes, loaders, road graders, and small mobile equipment
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
  • Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
  • Ability to work and effectively communicate with others in a team environment
  • Demonstrate safety as a core value
  • Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude. The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment where required. This exam is based on skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety.

Preferred
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Previous mine experience
  • Previous experience with pumps, piping and related systems
  • Previous experience operating various types of mobile equipment
  • Basic computer skills

  • This is a Safety sensitive role
  • While performing duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear, see and work in confined spaces
  • Work is performed in a mining or industrial environment which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles
  • Occasionally may be asked required to life moderately heavy to heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the course of the workday
  • Will be required to work rotating shifts in a 24/7/365 operation
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required

The estimated pay range for this role is currently $22.00 - $29.50/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
