Job description

Description Definition of Class: Under the direction of the Plant Maintenance Supervisor or other designated supervisor performs duties that are more prevalent during the summer months such as grass mowing. Other maintenance duties may be performed as assigned. Examples of Duties Examples of Work Performed: Mows grass with power mowers either push or riding mowers.

Trims weeds and tall grasses with power trimmers. Rakes grasses and leaves. Lays sod and sows grass seed.

Picks up trash and removes old grave decorations from cemetery. Empties trash cans with assistance (55 gallon drums). Drives small trucks to various locations hauling needed equipment.

Fuels trucks and lawnmowers. Cleans part restrooms and other facilities. Helps in spraying of herbicides.

Helps mix concrete for foundations and lifts small bags of dry cement. Shovels gravel and cement. Paints fences, facilities or such items as playground equipment.

Typical Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Applicant must be 18 years of age. Must be able to work outside in hot weather and have the physical ability to run mowers and trimmers and perform other duties listed above. Valid Ohio Driver's License.

Supplemental Information Knowledges, Skills and Abilities: Ability to lift 50 pounds. Ability to follow directions and work alone responsibly after receiving directions. Ability to read labels on cans and other warning labels on such things as paints, herbicides, and concrete.

Ability to drive small trucks and equipment responsibly. Ability to get along and use courtesy with other employees, supervisors and citizens. Ability to arrive to work on time and be at work when assigned.
