Job Summary:
The Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the work of maintenance staff while performing hands-on maintenance functions to ensure safe, efficient, and well-maintained facilities. This role sets maintenance priorities, conducts routine inspections, supports compliance with federal and state regulations, and collaborates closely with staff, individuals served, contractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure maintenance, equipment, and repair needs are met.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and assist with the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, and related systems.
  • Oversee and assist with general repairs and maintenance of buildings, fixtures, appliances, furniture, medical equipment, and facility infrastructure.
  • Coordinate and participate in grounds maintenance, including landscaping, snow removal, and outdoor upkeep using hand and power tools.
  • Support daily department operations, including maintaining the workshop, monitoring supplies, managing inventory, and ordering materials as needed.
  • Generate maintenance reports, respond to repair requests, and assist with fleet inspections and minor vehicle repairs.
  • Assist with staff supervision, work assignments, onboarding, training, timecard submission, and inspection of completed work.
  • Support compliance efforts, regulatory audits, safety procedures, and emergency preparedness activities.
  • Perform routine maintenance inspections and maintain required logs and documentation.
  • Participate in committees, special projects, fundraisers, emergency coverage, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required; advanced certification in building trades or safety codes preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of general maintenance experience with supervisory responsibilities required.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare or IDD setting preferred.
  • Demonstrated mechanical and building skills, including electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance.
  • Ability to operate assigned vehicles, including vans and coaches, with an insurable driving record.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, safety standards, and patient rights guidelines.
  • Valid Ohio driver's license with an insurable driving record.
