Job Summary
The Minnesota State Lottery is seeking highly motivated, well-organized individual with strong interpersonal skills to join our team as a Lottery Sales Representative! This position will work directly with approximately 115 retailers that sell Lottery products. The responsibilities include identifying potential new businesses to recruit as retailers within the designated territory and delivering sales presentations to business owners and managers. The goal is to identify opportunities to boost sales through training, promotions, and marketing recommendations. Additionally, this role involves engaging with the public at events to promote Lottery products.
This vacancy is based out of the Roseville headquarters office and will cover the Metro North Region which includes the following cities: Blaine, Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, Circle Pines, Columbia Heights, Coon Rapids, Fridley, Ham Lake, Hilltop, Lexington, Mounds View, Shoreview, and Spring Lake Park
The positions will travel close to 100%. A state issued vehicle will be assigned for business purposes.

This position typically has working hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. However, there may be occasional evening or weekend shifts required for special events or business needs.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
To facilitate proper crediting. please ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in the areas listed below and indicate the beginning and ending month and year for each job. To qualify, you must meet one of the following:

• Two years of professional sales experience that includes territory management, product merchandising, and promotional experience (counter sales, sales of services, and delivery driving do not count as professional sales experience).
• Ability to communicate effectively with individuals with a wide range of backgrounds, who do not share your same culture, ethnicity, language, or other common experiences.

***Note: Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Communications, or a related degree will substitute forone year of professional sales experience described above.
All applicants must possess and maintain a valid Class D Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications

• Experience selling a major consumer product.(e.g., Frito Lay, Nabisco, Pepsi, Philip Morris)
• Experience in gaming or entertainment industries.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Presentation and/or public speaking experience.
• Bi-lingual speaking.

Physical Requirements
This job requires occasionally lifting articles up to 25-30 pounds and frequently lifting and/or carrying objects such as promotional materials and dispenser cases. This job may require walking or standing to a significant degree or may involve sitting for extended periods of time.

The Minnesota State Lottery will conduct a criminal background check and fingerprint check at the time of job offer for all prospective new employees.
