Job Title: Bistro Cook
Department: Bistro
Reports To: Bistro Manager
Summary: A Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking food for guests. Cooks follow recipes consistently, make adjustments based on guest requests, communicate with wait staff and make attractive presentations for each dish. Cooks are responsible for delivering food that is not only delicious and cooked to the specifications of the guest but that is also safe and fresh.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Read food order slips or receive verbal instructions as to food required by guest
  • Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes
  • Prepare and cook food according to instructions and health department regulations
  • Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies
  • Store food in designated areas properly by sorting, labeling and dating
  • Clean work area, sinks, counters, display and prep tables and other equipment
  • Follow proper safety procedures when using kitchen equipment
  • Empty wastebaskets and transports trash to disposal area
  • Keeps record of cooler and freezer temps
  • Assists in all areas of the kitchen as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
