Job description

We are looking for a hands-on Kitchen Manager who thrives in a high-volume culinary environment. The ideal candidate is deeply committed to reliability, strictly follows directions and recipes to ensure consistency, and maintains the highest standards of food safety and kitchen cleanliness. You will be responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations, managing inventory, and ensuring our team operates smoothly and efficiently.

Compensation:

$20 - $30 hourly


Responsibilities:
  • Recipe & Prep Execution: Follow exact directions and meticulously execute recipes to ensure absolute consistency across all menu items.

  • Ordering & Inventory: Manage daily and weekly ordering, oversee seafood and dry goods inventory, and maintain vendor relationships to ensure optimal stock levels and cost control.

  • Food Safety & Cleanliness: Enforce strict health, safety, and sanitation guidelines. Maintain a spotless kitchen environment and ensure all staff adhere to food handling regulations.

  • Team Leadership: Direct, train, and schedule back-of-house staff. Foster a culture of reliability, accountability, and teamwork.

  • Quality Control: Inspect all deliveries for freshness and quality, particularly highly perishable seafood items, and oversee proper storage and rotation (FIFO).

  • Equipment Maintenance: Monitor kitchen equipment for proper functioning and report any necessary repairs or maintenance.


Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef, or Lead Line Cook in a fast-paced restaurant or market environment.

  • Unwavering reliability and a strong, professional work ethic.

  • Exceptional ability to follow established recipes, scaling guidelines, and operational procedures without deviation.

  • Solid experience with food ordering, inventory management, and minimizing waste.

  • ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification is strongly preferred.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift to 50 lbs.
