Job description

As an Amazon Robotics Solutions Design Engineer, you will be able to work with some of the most talented engineers in the design and development of robotic fulfillment systems around the globe. A successful candidate will have an established background in developing high-performance physical systems, a strong technical problem solving ability, excellent project management skills, and an internal motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced, and often ambiguous environment. Amazon's culture encourages innovation and expects engineers and managers alike to take a high level of ownership in solving complex problems.
In this role, you will be responsible for the design, validation, and delivery of end-to-end robotic sortation solutions across Amazon's worldwide fulfillment and transportation networks. You will partner with our customers, program teams, and product teams to design safe, simple, and scalable solutions that are easy to build, deploy, and operate. You will reinvent and simplify solution design processes as needed to enter the brownfield retrofit solution space with the goal of defect-free design. You will leverage a deep understanding of dock processes, material flow through the different process paths, and robotic technologies to innovate and develop advanced concept designs and applications for dock automation. You will leverage simulation to design, validate, and iterate on solution designs to meet or exceed solution performance requirements. You will be curious to learn and build subject-matter expertise essential to executing the solution design at scale for our customers.
Key job responsibilities
- Evaluate and create physical processing and material storage solutions using innovative technology, robotics and data analytics to meet the product flow requirements based on Amazon design principles.
- Identify and analyze key operational and financial metrics as part of program and feature selection in order to drive smart decisions.
- Coordinate and collaborate with systems and operations engineering teams to develop product features and optimize the performance of the FCs.
- Manage and support multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and effectively influence, negotiate, and communicate with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.
