Job description

We are looking for a motivated Transport Dispatcher.  As a Transport Dispatcher, you will be responsible for preparing and effectively communicating the economic dispatch of product to each retail location, and ensuring each location is supplied with an appropriate amount of product daily.

  • Coordinates propane supply logistics – meeting monthly contract volumes by balancing with locational needs to maintain seasonal storage levels
  • Collect and evaluate reports to determine source selection based on contract requirements and cost to deliver
  • Ensures transport delivered locations never run out of propane by using all available loading opportunities available and keeping locations informed on delivery status when applicable.
  • Analyzes and inputs data utilizing SAP and Microsoft Office products (i.e. truck loads, locations and load information)
  • Communicates with various internal groups (Product Supply, Fuel Accounting, Accounts Payable, etc.)
  • Coordinates with internal rail dispatch where applicable
  • Cross trains for and handles duties of other Product Supply Employees in cases of temporary absence
  • Builds relationships with Customer Service Centers (CSCs), third party carrier and supplier personnel
  • Handles administrative duties as requested by Management

 

Must be on call 24 hours per day and 7 days per week.

$57,884 - $72,355 annually (dependent on experience)

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Transportation dispatch experience helpful but not necessary
  • Basic knowledge of computer concepts including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to make economic decisions.
  • Understands or is willing to learn fuel delivery concepts and practices
