What is the 70 30 rule in hiring?

The 70/30 rule in hiring suggests that 70% of a candidate's evaluation should focus on skills, experience, and qualifications, while 30% should consider cultural fit and soft skills. For a temporary foundry worker, this emphasizes assessing technical ability alongside reliability and teamwork. This approach helps ensure the worker is both capable and a good fit for the work environment.

What jobs pay 2000 a day?

Job description

Maintenance Technician โ€” Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry (WAF)

Location: 838 S. 16th Street, Manitowoc, WI 54220

Schedule: 1st shift: Monday โ€“ Friday, 6 am โ€“ 2 pm

If youโ€™d rather fix the root cause than swap parts and hope โ€” youโ€™ll fit in here.

As a WAF employee, you will enjoy the benefits of:

  • Competitive pay ($30-$40/hr) + weekly pay
  • Overtime opportunities
  • Health, dental, vision, and other insurances are available
  • 401(k) with employer pension contribution
  • $400/month childcare reimbursement
  • Employee โ€“ driven charitable giving
  • Stable, family-owned company

What you'll be wrenching on and troubleshooting:

  • Furnaces & melt systems: High-temp, high-stakes uptime
  • Hydraulic & pneumatic: Circuit diagnosis, seal & valve work
  • Motors & VFDs: Electrical troubleshooting, drive configuration
  • Conveyors & sand systems: Mechanical & structural rebuilds
  • Preventative maintenance: PM schedules, inspections, documentation
  • Breakdown response: Fast diagnosis, root cause โ€” not part-swapping

We want someone who can read a schematic, trace a fault to the source, and leave it better than they found it. If your instinct is to understand the problem before reaching for a part โ€” you'll fit here.

What you need to succeed:

  • 2+ years industrial maintenance โ€” foundry, manufacturing, or heavy equipment
  • Hands-on electrical troubleshooting: motors, controls, VFDs
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic system diagnosis
  • Comfortable reading schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Comfortable working in heat, tight spaces, and a physically active environment
  • Team-first โ€” you take pride in the shift running clean

If you're a hands-on technician who takes pride in solving problems the right way โ€” apply today!
