Summary of Position:    The Talent Acquisition Coordinator will identify, attract, and screen pipelines of qualified candidates to help scale and support our employee growth at Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU). As part of our Talent Team, this person will play a key role in helping others across campus achieve their goals by sourcing and recruiting talented and mission-drive individuals. This key role is crucial in achieving our staffing goals and ensuring that both hiring managers and candidates experience a seamless, high-quality, and positive hiring process.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Talent Recruitment
    • Provide support for all aspects of talent management - job description crafting, sourcing, attracting, and hiring top talent
    • Collaborate with leadership to implement and execute the staffing strategy at IWU
    • Creating talent pools within Applicant Tracking System (ATS) in preparation for future openings & strategic hiring needs
    • Ensure timely communication with candidates and hiring managers throughout the recruitment process
    • Support the recruitment team by coordination of job/career fair events and community outreach efforts
    • Support the Talent Acquisition Manager, when needed, by issuing e-offers, and onboarding paperwork (i.e. payroll forms, background checks, I-9 verifications, etc.)
    • Track and report on key recruiting and campus metrics to analyze the success of recruitment strategies and continue to look at innovative ways to improve them (i.e. time-to-hire, application volume, successful sourcing, etc.)
    • Create content rich media to assist in drawing interest to IWU through articles, highlighted benefits, testimonials, and storytelling features
    • Assist in building FAQ rules and responses for launch of AI powered talent chatbot 
  • Sourcing and Candidate Management
    • Create and manage job postings for faculty, staff, and temporary positions using the Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
    • Actively source Exempt and Non-Exempt candidates through various channels, including Indeed, Inside Higher Ed, HigherEdJobs, INVets, MSEP, and other social media avenues to recruit talent 
  • Talent Administration
    • Provide instruction to end users on process, software, utilization, etc. of Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
    • Review all applications received for required information and missional alignment to IWU values
    • Review and assess all job descriptions to assign job families, salary ranges, and levels while offering position accuracy across the university
    • Assist all prospective candidates, new hires, and hiring managers with a welcoming and helpful attitude that offers a high level of hospitality
    • Collaborate with fellow team members to meet strategic goals assigned to the department 

Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, training and development or related field preferred

Experience

  • Candidates must have at least one to three (1-3) years of professional experience and a keen interest in talent acquisition, recruitment, and human resources
  • Experience or background in content creation, marketing, or technology is preferred
  • Prior experience as a recruiter or sourcing specialist is strongly preferred
  • Experience in developing, managing, and implementing processes and procedures is critical

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
  • Willingness to step outside of comfort zone in work and environments and try new methodologies and approaches to drive innovation within talent recruitment
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively communicate/present ideas
  • Excellent relationship-building skills are necessary for developing partnerships, building teamwork, and working within a collaborative environment
  • Attention to detail along with good discernment and the ability to maintain confidentiality is crucial for this role
  • Dependable, reliable, responsible and committed to fulfilling obligations
  • Initiative to seek out work that needs to be done and proactively seeking solutions to challenges
