Airfreight Pricing Specialist – 77067
 
Location: North Houston – 77067 
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Temp to Hire, $22.00 to $26.00, DOE
 
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Airfreight Pricing Specialist to join a growing international freight forwarding organization. This position will be responsible for preparing competitive airfreight quotations, negotiating rates with airlines and service providers, analyzing costs, and supporting the sales and operations teams with accurate and timely pricing solutions.
 
The ideal candidate will have previous airfreight pricing experience within a freight forwarding environment and a strong understanding of international air cargo rates, routing, surcharges, and carrier options.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and manage international airfreight pricing and quotations for import and export shipments.
  • Obtain and negotiate competitive rates with airlines, carriers, trucking companies, and other service providers.
  • Analyze routing options, transit times, capacity, and costs to determine the most competitive transportation solutions.
  • Prepare spot quotes, customer-specific pricing, and rate proposals.
  • Maintain and update airline, carrier, and vendor rate information.
  • Review applicable fuel surcharges, security fees, terminal charges, handling fees, and other accessorial costs.
  • Work closely with the Sales and Operations teams to provide timely and accurate pricing support.
  • Assist with RFQs, bids, tenders, and customer pricing requests.
  • Compare carrier options and identify opportunities to improve margins while maintaining competitive pricing.
  • Monitor market conditions, airline capacity, rate fluctuations, and industry trends.
  • Ensure quotations include all applicable transportation and service charges.
  • Follow up on outstanding pricing requests and maintain organized quote records.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with airlines, carriers, agents, and vendors.
  • Assist with resolving pricing discrepancies and vendor billing issues when necessary.
  • Support management with pricing analysis and reporting as requested.
 
Qualifications
Previous Airfreight Pricing experience within freight forwarding is strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge of international airfreight import and export transportation.
Understanding of airline rates, chargeable weight, dimensional weight, routing, transit times, and airfreight surcharges.
Experience requesting and negotiating rates with airlines and transportation providers.
Ability to prepare accurate and competitive customer quotations.
Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to manage multiple pricing requests and meet tight deadlines.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Experience with freight forwarding or transportation management systems is preferred.
