As Floor Nurse, youโ€™ll play a pivotal role in ensuring residents receive high-quality care while fostering independence, comfort, and a genuine quality of life. About the Role
We are seeking a floor nurse for a Mondayโ€“Friday evening shift (2:30pm-11:00pm), totaling 40+ hrs/week. This is an 8-week temporary position.

Hillside Nurses administer medications and treatments, and supervise our team of Resident Care Aides (RCAs) and handle all resident and building emergencies. You will ensure that resident care assignments are implemented effectively, monitor resident status, and collaborate with healthcare teams to adjust services as needed. Your role will have a direct impact on residentsโ€™ health, safety, and overall well-being, and will provide them with the supportive and homelike environment they deserve.
What Youโ€™ll Do

  • Assess residentsโ€™ health status and needs, ensuring resident individualized service care plans are carried through
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
  • Monitor and document resident progress, reporting changes to the healthcare team
  • Educate residents and families about acute and chronic conditions
  • Supervise RCAs on shift, ensuring tasks are completed timely, safely and effectively
  • Oversee all Assisted Living residentsโ€™ safety and overall well-being
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the highest quality of care

Required Qualifications

  • Valid LPN license in Michigan (or pending verification/NCLEX completion)
  • Completion of an accredited LPN program
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Physical stamina to stand and walk throughout the shift
  • Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Critical thinking for evaluating resident responses to treatments
  • Leadership skills to supervise and support care staff effectively

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Assisted Living, Memory Care, or long-term care settings
  • Advanced certifications or specialized training in senior care

Schedule

  • Full time evening shift: 2:30pm-11:00pm Monday-Friday
