Job description

Armedia is looking for a Document Scanning Technician to support our client located in Laurel, Maryland. Candidates must be located within a commuting distance as this will be an onsite role, 5 days per week. This will be a temporary position through June 2027 with a possible extension.
Rate: $23.00/hour
*LOCATION: Laurel, MD
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare documents for scanning, to include, removing staples, clip, and bindings
  • Adhere to strict policies regarding handling and transport of paper documents including:
  • Maintaining order of paper documents through the digitization process
  • Proper tracking of document location and status
  • Ensure upmost care of documents to prevent loss or damage
  • Digitize physical paper documents using high-speed, flatbed, or overhead scanners
  • Ensure 100% capture rate by preforming quality assurance comparisons
  • Capture and index all required data fields per the client's requirements
  • Preform daily maintenance of scanning equipment
  • Monitor quality of scanning equipment consumables
  • Preform a page by page cross-reference of digital format files against the corresponding physical files
  • Report to the Digitization Manager as directed
  • Maintain daily progress tracking spreadsheet
  • Maintain a clean work environment

Required Skills:
  • Must be able comfortably lift 30lb-45lbs
  • Proficient in Windows operating system
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work in teams
  • Self-starter
  • Must be highly organized and have strong attention to detail
  • Adaptive and willing to be multifunctional within the project team
  • Proficient across multiple web browsers

Preferred Skills:
  • Scanning QA Experience
  • Experience using a local and restricted communications network (Intranet)

Education:
  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent
  • (Preferred) College degree or pursuing college degree

Contingencies:
  • Ability to pass a background screening
