Job description

Position Overview
Our client is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to join a growing healthcare organization. This individual will serve as a technical leader in the design, implementation, and migration of enterprise cloud solutions, with a primary focus on Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise across multiple cloud platforms and have a proven track record of successfully leading complex cloud migration initiatives involving applications, databases, and infrastructure workloads.
This role requires a hands-on engineer who can balance technical execution with strategic planning, working closely with infrastructure, application, security, and business stakeholders to drive cloud adoption and modernization efforts.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, architecture, and execution of cloud migration projects, including applications, databases, and infrastructure workloads.
  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud environments with a primary focus on Microsoft Azure.
  • Assess existing on-premises and cloud-based systems and develop migration roadmaps and modernization strategies.
  • Collaborate with application owners, database administrators, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to ensure successful cloud adoption.
  • Optimize cloud environments for performance, scalability, reliability, security, and cost efficiency.
  • Implement and support cloud governance, monitoring, automation, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code and automation solutions to streamline deployments and operational processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud infrastructure and application issues.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to engineering and operations teams.
  • Ensure cloud solutions align with healthcare industry standards, security requirements, and compliance regulations.

Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, or related technical roles.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure, including architecture, deployment, administration, and optimization.
  • Strong multi-cloud experience with exposure to AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Proven experience leading enterprise cloud migration initiatives involving:
    • SQL databases
    • Business applications
    • Infrastructure workloads
    • Hybrid cloud environments
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking, identity management, security, and governance.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, ARM Templates, or Bicep.
  • Experience with automation and scripting technologies such as PowerShell, Python, or similar tools.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud monitoring, backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive projects from planning through execution.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience within healthcare or highly regulated environments.
  • Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator Associate, or related certifications.
  • Experience with containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.
  • Experience supporting cloud security frameworks and compliance requirements.
