About the Job
 

Job Title: DBA Event Program Manager (temporary staff) 


Duration: June 15 September 11, 2026 (13 weeks)

Schedule: 3 days/week (8:30 AM 5:00 PM) on-campus. Note: late August through early September requires 5+ days per week, including potential evenings and weekends for event execution. This is a temporary position that will work no more than 67 working days in a given calendar year.

Role Summary

The Carlson Global Institute is seeking a high-functioning Event Program Manager to lead the planning and execution of executive-level events and international programs. This role is responsible for the seamless delivery of high-stakes programming, requiring a blend of administrative precision, logistical expertise, and on-site leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Executive Event Planning: Lead end-to-end logistics for high-profile events, including travel coordination, caterer management, and itinerary management.
  2. Safety & Compliance Support: Assist in the execution of event safety protocols; help ensure all activities comply with university and venue regulations, including risk assessment and crowd management.
  3. Professional Communications: Act as the primary point of contact for digital queries; draft and edit reports, formal letters, and program collateral in English.
  4. Data Management: Ensure all program data and spreadsheets are updated in real-time with 100% accuracy. Manage sensitive information with the highest level of confidentiality and security.
  5. Team Integration: Collaborate with CGI colleagues to provide cross-functional support during the busy summer/fall transition.

Qualifications
 

Required Qualifications

  • Event Expertise: Extensive experience in executive-level event planning and on-site execution in higher education or global corporate setting.
  • Safety Knowledge: Practical experience or certification in event safety compliance and risk management.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expert-level use of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal English skills suitable for an executive environment.
  • Mobility: Valid drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle for off-site tasks (mileage reimbursed).
  • Flexibility: Availability for a heavy "Peak Week" workload in late August/early September, including overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Mandarin (Chinese) language is not necessary but a plus
Pay and Benefits
 

Pay Range: $25.00-$30.00/hour depending on education/qualifications/experience.
