Job description

What You’ll Do

Responsible for assigned activities within the Accounting Department. Communicates and reports to Senior Accountant(s) and Assistant Controller status updates of assigned functions and projects.

This temporary assignment is expected to last from August/September – December/January.

Core Contributions

  • Performs a variety of routine accounting functions: prepares internal and external financial reporting (i.e. National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) Form 5300, Annual Report, etc.); analyzes financial data; prepares journal entries; meets various project and reporting deadlines; and works with partners on accounting activity. Performs these activities in compliance with applicable regulatory agencies; and Company accounting policies, procedures, standards, and internal controls.
  • Supports Senior Accountants with accounting changes issued by Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), NCUA, and any other applicable regulating agencies.
  • Performs general ledger account reconciliations and, if applicable, reviews other department reconciliations for completeness, accuracy, and unresolved variances. Responsibilities include: timely review and resolution of variances, monitoring of outstanding activity, and timely communication of unresolved variances to management.
  • Updates and, if applicable, creates procedures and/or narratives for assigned tasks. Including, but not limited to background, key controls, system reports, frequency of process, process flows, etc.
  • Provides support on assigned projects by taking notes, performing testing, presenting testing results to project team, and documenting project for Accounting Team reference.
  • Performs ad hoc tasks as assigned by the Senior(s), Assistant Controller, Controller, VP Accounting, SVP Accounting and Finance, and Chief Financial Officer.

Assets You Will Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 1-4 years of experience.
  • Position requires strong interpersonal skills, ability to handle multiple projects, and have strong technical skills in systems.
  • Computer Skills: PC, Windows, Internet proficient and MS Excel, Outlook, and Word skills

The expected salary for this position is $31.93 to $38.32 per hour.
