ย Temporary Cashier

Enova Power Corp. is trusted and dedicated to delivering safe and reliable energy solutions that power our communities forward.

Serving more than 165,000 residential and business customers in the Cities of Kitchener and Waterloo, Townships of Woolwich, Wilmot, and Wellesley, Enova Power Corp. is the 7th largest electricity distribution utility in Ontario.

This position is responsible for the processing and balancing of all customer payment transactions. This temporary position will end December 31, 2026.

Skills/Abilities/Knowledge

  • Accuracy and attention to detail when handling large volumes of cash
  • Ability to perform basic mathematics including extreme accuracy with numbers
  • The ability to work with the public and other staff members in a pleasant, courteous and professional manner
  • General knowledge of standard office equipment, personal computers, and scanners
  • Knowledge of industry regulations, privacy regulations, and company policies to respond to customer inquiries
  • Communication skills

Experience/Educationย ย ย 

  • A secondary school graduation diploma
  • Past experience in an office environment with cashier duties
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Major (Primary) Responsibilities

  • Responsible for posting all customer payments including miscellaneous accounts receivable.
  • Reconciliation of daily tenders including cash, cheque, debit and credit card transactions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely communication of payment to Collection staff for appropriate reconnection.
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding overdue accounts and negotiate acceptable payment arrangements within pre-defined guidelines.
  • Review customer overpayments and contact customers to advise of discrepancy.
  • Post online transactions to the Customer Information System including refunds and financial adjustments.
  • Maintain and promote a safe and healthy work environment, and comply with corporate safety policies as well as applicable codes, such as the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Electrical Utility Safety Rules.
