Substitute/Temporary School Position (Seattle, WA)
This posting may be used to fill temporary, term-limited school needs in all divisions, subjects, departments

While other duties may be assigned, a qualified candidate will be able to manage key responsibilities and skills, as listed below:
  • Create and sustain a positive classroom culture, based on the mission and values of the school
  • Deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences in a student-driven, inquiry-based manner
  • Establish classroom expectations that create a safe and comfortable environment for all students
  • Demonstrate excellent preparation within the specific class, field and/or subject area
  • Have knowledge and experience with a variety of teaching and leadership strategies
  • Be familiar and experienced with diverse learning styles
  • Utilize technology to support student success (e.g. Google Docs, Blackbaud, Google Classroom, etc.)
  • Conscientiously complete other duties as assigned

Academic and Professional Experience:
  • Experience teaching, with 3 or more years preferred
  • Experience in the specific class, field and/or subject area with 3 or more years preferred
  • A bachelor's degree is required
  • A graduate degree is preferred

Successful candidates will have:

  • The expertise and interest to engage in experiential activities and programs with students
  • The ability to be patient and positive and find joy in the journey of promoting a lifelong love of learning

  • A commitment to completing work in a timely and thorough manner while being conscientious about assignments and deadlines.
  • Have proficient skills in the use of technology: including, but not limited to, Microsoft Suite, Google Drive, and Outlook
  • Ability to work in a team - grade level, department, and/or division

Additional Requirements:
  • Have a current Adult and Children CPR, First Aid and AED Certification (or receive one soon after hire date)
  • Meet the school's standards when completing two separate background screenings

Compensation/Benefit Information for this position:
  • This temporary, term-limited position is a stipend position that is paid in a half-day or whole-day increment.
  • The half-day stipend is $93.68 and the full-day stipend $187.36.
  • Free parking at Seattle, WA campus
  • City of Seattle Sick and Safe Leave
