SUMMARY:
This role is within the Accounting & Reporting department, and provides financial, accounting and reporting duties for moderate to complex functional areas. This is an initial 6-month temporary contract.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

  • Develops and analyzes financial projection information based on historical and future-based trends, financial analysis, fiscal performance and accounting functions for assigned area of responsibility.
  • Assesses and recommends the appropriate accounting and reporting of moderately complex transactions and activities, monitoring for accuracy and process integrity.
  • Identify needed improvements in business processes and internal controls and works closely with management to design and implement improvements to ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), J-SOX and federal and state tax requirements.
  • Performs month-end, quarterly, and annual closing activities and financial reporting duties, including accruals, adjustments, reconciliations, variance explanations and documentation.
  • Generates monthly, quarterly and ad hoc financial and management reporting.
  • Assesses the impact of new/modified GAAP on processes and procedures.
  • Assists in establishing and implementing new or modified systems, accounting methods, and procedures relating to production activities.
  • Works closely with IT on development, test and implementation of accounting systems and modifications.
  • May lead or coach less experienced team members.

SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of four to six (4-6) years of related experience.
  • In depth understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures.
  • Experience in financial statement analysis.
  • Knowledge of automated systems (Oracle EBS preferred).
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Business, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

This position is hybrid in Redmond, WA. Hybrid positions require regular onsite work following the schedule and guidelines for their division. This position is not open to fully remote status at this time.
