This role requires frequent travel and extended onsite presence at remote project locations. The Traveling Project Manager serves as a primary company representative in the field and is expected to operate with a high degree of professionalism, communication, and autonomy while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal operations teams.Key ResponsibilitiesUpon project assignment, develop and refine project-specific and client-driven goals, schedules, and budgets.Assist the design team during the design phase on negotiated design-build projects by identifying inefficiencies and recommending solutions to maintain budget while meeting project requirements.Coordinate due diligence efforts on behalf of the client, ensuring all required documentation is maintained and delivered.Establish and maintain project goals and success criteria that align with client needs.Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and cost control measures while actively tracking project performance against schedules and critical path milestones.Complete monthly project health reports and participate in management review meetings regarding project costs, schedules, and issues.Coordinate with the Construction Technology Leader to support VDC implementation.Provide estimating assistance to preconstruction staff as needed.Track and communicate weekly project schedule updates to subcontractors and owners.Prepare and execute subcontracts and purchase orders.Monitor and approve vendor and subcontractor invoices and assist in developing and processing monthly pay applications.Submit and review change orders while effectively communicating issues and assisting in developing resolutions.Conduct weekly project meetings with project stakeholders.Review and address plan details, resolving issues proactively to minimize cost and schedule impacts.Maintain continual communication with clients, design teams, Project Superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors.Maintain a consistent onsite leadership presence at assigned project locations.Coordinate project activities across geographically dispersed stakeholders and subcontractors.Support project mobilization, startup activities, temporary facilities coordination, and site logistics as required.Assist in identifying project risks and contribute to mitigation planning efforts.Attend client interviews and meetings as required.Mentor and support Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, and other less experienced team members as appropriate.Perform additional assignments at supervisor's direction.Supervisory Responsibility:This position may provide coordination, mentorship, and day-to-day support to Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, and other less experienced team members but does not typically have direct supervisory responsibility. This position may also serve as the primary operational representative onsite for remote project assignments. Travel Requirements:Travel requirements will vary based on project assignment and may involve extended onsite presence at remote project locations.Extended stays at remote project locations may be required for durations ranging from several weeks to multiple months.Position may require travel by vehicle and/or air transportation.Weekend travel may occasionally be necessary based on project schedule demands.Employees assigned to travel projects may be eligible for per diem, travel accommodations, and additional onsite assignment compensation in accordance with company travel policies.Ability to work adjusted schedules and extended hours while supporting remote project operations.Periodic travel to company offices, client meetings, and company events as required.What We're Looking ForEducation & Experience:Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or related field; Minimum of 3-7 years of project management experience in a commercial and/or industrial construction environment, including prior experience as a Project Engineer, Senior Project Engineer, or Assistant Project Manager.Experience managing small-to-mid-sized commercial and industrial construction projects typically ranging from $5M to $25M in value.Experience managing projects in remote or travel-intensive environments is preferred.Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and make decisions in fast-paced project environments with limited day-to-day oversight.Ability to lead and coordinate project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders across multiple project locations.Experience supporting projects within the Power & Energy, Aerospace, and/or Defense sectors is considered a strong plus but not required. Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.Strong ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with clients, field leadership, subcontractors, and internal teams.Understanding of project sequencing, pull-planning, scheduling coordination, and critical path management principles.Excellent interpersonal skills with proactive client-service mindset.Strong oral and written communication skills.Ability to read and understand construction documents. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.Ability to adapt to evolving construction technologies, project delivery methods, and client expectations.Strong aptitude for construction technology and digital project management platforms including Autodesk Build/Cost, Primavera P6, Microsoft 365, Bluebeam, Timberline Estimating, and related collaboration tools.Ability to operate standard office equipment including computer, printer, copier, scanner, telephone, and mobile phone.Ability to use Zoom and Microsoft Teams for virtual meetings.OSHA 30 certification preferred or required within designated timeframe.Must possess a valid, state-issued driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.Ability to work Monday through Friday, at least eight hours per day, with flexibility to support project schedules, travel demands, and extended work hours as necessary.
