POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for cooking and preparing food orders for guests' specifications. In all interactions, the position is responsible for providing STAR Experience to guests and fellow team members a first priority.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Shooting Star Casino team members will always deliver excellent guest service to our guests and fellow co-workers.

To provide a positive attitude while preparing food orders and to maintain a sanitary and clean work environment.
  • Prepare food for restaurant based on current recipes.
  • Ensures appearance and taste of food served our guests.
  • Ensures adequate levels of product are available to enhance the efficiency of the kitchen.
  • Fill out waste Spoilage reports.
  • Ensures proper portion control on all items served.
  • Takes the temp of all products going out.
  • Orders made in a timely manner.
  • Organizing area for daily operations.

To maintain sanitation regulations to ensure a safe environment for our guests.
  • Make sure sanitation standards are met.
  • Clean floors, coolers, seals, etc.
  • Records time and temperatures in log.
  • Labels product put into storage.
  • Maintains product supplies using the First In First Out Standard.
  • Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of work area and equipment.

Listen and respond to guests concerns to maintain a high level of guest satisfaction.
  • Refers guest to the appropriate department or function for issue resolution.

Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED; or a minimum of six months' cooking experience.
Ongoing and/or continuing education may be required.
Certificates, Licenses & Designations
Must meet licensing requirements as prescribed by the Tribal State Compact for Gaming.
ServSafe certificate or ability to obtain certificate within six months.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Knowledge of cooking.
  • Skills in operating all kitchen equipment, example stoves, broilers, steamers etc.
  • Ability to follow and read recipes.
  • Ability to keep food prep areas and equipment safe and sanitary.
  • Ability to monitor portion control and provide waste sheets.
  • Ability to follow procedures and give attention detail.
  • Ability to work cooperatively within a group to make the group successful and effective.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 75 pounds (such as cases of product to and from storage).

Certificates, Licenses & Designations
Must meet licensing requirements as prescribed by the Tribal State Compact for Gaming.
ServSafe certificate or ability to obtain certificate within six months.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Frequently moderate to loud noise level.
  • Frequent warm to cool temperatures.
