Job description

Rightstone is looking for an IT Sourcing Specialist specializing in Software and SaaS procurement in Houston, TX. The pay rate is $40.00/hr for a long-term 12-month contract with strong potential for renewal and a consistent Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM schedule.

In this role, you will join a global leader in energy technology, at our corporate office in the Energy Corridor (Dairy Ashford Rd). You will serve as the strategic business partner for key IT stakeholders, leading commercial negotiations, and executing comprehensive category strategies for global software applications. From initial RF(x) creation to complex contract redlining, you will ensure cost savings, mitigate compliance risks, and streamline technology adoption across the enterprise. This is an exceptional opportunity for an analytical technology procurement professional to own high-value software categories on a global scale.

What you will do:

  • Lead complex commercial contract negotiations and extensive contract redlining with global technology and software suppliers.
  • Drive the end-to-end sourcing process by executing strategic RF(x) initiatives for diverse technology categories, including On-Premises, SaaS, and Cloud applications.
  • Partner directly with cross-functional corporate teams—including IT infrastructure, Legal, Finance, and Cyber Security—to align tech purchases with corporate goals.
  • Mitigate commercial and operational risks through strict contracting frameworks, ensuring compliance with data privacy laws and global cybersecurity regulations.
  • Build and implement comprehensive, data-driven annual and long-term category plans for the software pipeline utilizing internal and external metrics.
  • Manage high-level stakeholder communications, presenting routine project status updates, compliance tracking, and critical vendor KPI performance metrics to business leaders.
  • Achieve aggressive annual cost-savings targets while maintaining optimal software performance, licensing structures, and supplier accountability.

What we are looking for:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of progressive experience leading technology sourcing, IT buying, or strategic procurement activities specifically for global software (SaaS, Cloud, and On-Prem solutions).
  • Direct, hands-on experience negotiating and redlining technology contracts (candidates must be comfortable reviewing legal terms, licensing rights, and commercial tiers).
  • Fundamental understanding of global data privacy regulations and cybersecurity baselines associated with enterprise software procurement.
  • Proven capability to analyze internal and external supply data to build, present, and execute strategic category sourcing plans.
  • Highly proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, with strong capabilities in Word (for contract reviews), Excel (for data analysis), and PowerPoint (for executive presentations).
  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college is required.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills to manage high-velocity projects in a fast-paced corporate environment.

This is a temporary/contract position. While benefits (Health, 401k, PTO) are not provided during the contract period, they may become available upon successful conversion to a permanent role.
