About your role:
The Concrete Form Setter/Finisher will expertly smooth and finish poured concrete surfaces, prepare and patch areas for optimal bonding, and utilize a variety of hand and power tools to achieve high-quality results. The role will involve constructing, aligning, and repairing formwork, interpreting blueprints to determine elevations and quantities, and ensuring precise measurements using specialized equipment. Responsibilities include installing fixtures in freshly poured concrete, setting elevations, and overseeing the casting process while supervising laborers and monitoring environmental conditions to ensure quality control.
Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities:
Essential functions may include the following tasks, knowledge, skills, and other characteristics.   • Assist in building and positioning forms for pouring concrete and dismantling after use.
  • Dig ditches and levels earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, and rakes.
  • Grade dirt and concrete efficiently and accurately.
  • Mix concrete and mortar.
  • Assists to maintain jobsite, trucks, and equipment are always clean and eliminate possible hazards.
  • Assist to align, straighten, plumb, and square forms for installation.
  • Construct forms, then assist in raising them to the required elevation.
  • Install handrails and tie rebar and/or wire mesh.
  • Load and unload trucks and haul and hoist materials.
  • Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition.
  • Report any unsafe work practices, mechanical problems, or safety hazards immediately to a supervisor.
  • Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
  • Grind, scrape, sand, or polish surfaces, such as concrete surfaces for cleaning or finishing, using abrasive tools or machines.
  • Cut lumber to specified dimensions and drill holes in lumber.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.
Education
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Type of Experience Needed to be Successful:
  • 12 months – 2 years of experience in similar position or industry.
