Location: DMV Area (Washington, D.C. / Maryland / Virginia)
Security Clearance: Active Top Secret (TS) Clearance (Required)
Travel: Up to 50% International Travel (Overseas) 

Salary: $43.00 – $60.00 per hour

We are primarily a federal government contractor serving both government and commercial clients. IEI is actively expanding, and we are seeking talented, cleared professionals to support our mission critical operations both domestically and abroad.


Position Overview

IEI is seeking a skilled and adaptable Field Electrician / Multi-Trade Specialist based in the DMV area. The ideal candidate will possess an active Top Secret (TS) clearance and have strong experience in electrical systems alongside a background in general construction trades (carpentry, concrete, and building structures).

This highly mobile position requires traveling overseas approximately 50% of the time to support specialized construction and electrical projects for our government clients. When not traveling, you will support project planning, logistics, and regional DMV operations.


Key Qualifications
  • Experience: 3+ years of professional construction and/or electrical experience (Preferred).

  • Clearance: Active Top Secret (TS) government security clearance (Mandatory).

  • Skills: Strong multi-trade background (carpentry, concrete, framing) and a track record of completing projects safely, on time, and within budget.

  • Requirements: Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check. A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required.


Essential Functions Include but Are Not Limited To:
  • Electrical Systems: Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems, panels, wiring, and equipment in both domestic and secure overseas facilities.

  • Framing & Drywall: Layout and frame wood and metal stud walls; install sheetrock or wall paneling for interior remodels, secure areas, generator enclosures, and material storage facilities.

  • Carpentry & Roofing: Frame out and deck building roofs, overhangs, and canopies on various work buildings. Install and repair wooden doors, door frames, hinges, cabinet frames, drawers, countertops, and wood flooring.

  • Finishes: Layout, install, and repair drop ceiling grids, tiles, carpeting, tile, and other floor finishes in work offices.

  • Concrete & Masonry Support: Construct concrete forms to specified measurements for masonry use; paint/stain architectural concrete on buildings, walls, and other structural surfaces.

  • Logistics & Safety: Transport materials, tools, and equipment to job sites manually or using conveyance equipment. Shape or cut materials to specified measurements using hand, portable power, and stationary power tools.
