HYBRID POSITION

As a Clinical Data Abstractor, you will be responsible for the clinical data abstraction of medical records retrospectively, using the CMS/Joint Commission clinical specification guidelines. Clinical abstraction of open heart charts are also required by the PHC4 mandate utilizing the PHC4 Cardiac Surgery clinical abstraction guidelines. Use your strong analytical skills to interpret data from multiple sources. Collaborate on a local and national level by attending system meetings, conferences, web conferences, and any other educational seminars offered regarding updates and changes to the Specifications Manual for National Hospital Inpatient Quality Measures and Outpatient Specifications Manual in order to stay current with abstraction guidelines.

Shift: Monday-Friday: Days
Experience:
Experience with medical terminology required. TJC/CMS Core Measure clinical data abstraction/entry or Performance Improvement preferred.
Education:
RN strongly preferred; or Graduate from a health management program preferred; or pursuing a degree in a related health or medical program preferred.
Licensures/Certifications:
RN, LPN, RHIT, RHIA, where applicable.
