Job Summary
The Project Engineer assists in the management and preparation of Milhaus Construction projects, including collaborating with the Project Managers to ensure that each project is delivered safely, on time, on budget and at quality. Additionally, the project engineer adheres to predetermined plans, specifications, and industry standards in the execution of the project. The PE must be able to work collaboratively in teams as well as independently without immediate supervision to complete assigned tasks and projects.
Key Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordination with Construction staff both in the field and office, including the Project Manager and Superintendents
  • Ownership of all project documentation, submittal, and tracking, including: all RFIs, inspection report logs, notes from OAC meetings, submittal packages, and change order coordination by utilizing ProCore (Construction Management Software). Construction Document (CD's, Architectural/Civil Plans) control and filing including RFI's, ASI's, PR's document coordination including working with consultants, architects, engineers, etc.
  • Communicate with design consultants and subs to ensure all information (i.e. RFI's, Architectural Supplemental Instructions, etc.) are received in a timely manner and distributed to the field for approval
  • Assist in all duties regarding start-up of project (i.e. trailer, electrical, plumbing and all temporary requirements)
  • Assist in the procurement of permits.
  • Assist with preparing agendas and running meetings. Record and distribute meeting minutes.
  • Handle material procurement tracking and delivery coordination
  • Assist the Construction team as needed both in the field or office
  • Assist in gathering all pertinent submittals and log them in the submittal log and follow up on submittals to ensure receipt and delivery in a timely manner by a letter of transmittal. Review submittals to ensure compliance with the project documents.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction management, or related field
  • 1- 5 years of construction experience
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Strong math, analytical and technology skills
  • Experience with Excel, ProCore, Bluebeam
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
