Department: Human Resources

Reports to: Associate HR Director

New Life Church's mission is to make disciples in the Pikes Peak region, by calling people to worship, connect and serve.

Job Summary

To coordinate and facilitate HR systems, with an emphasis on vetting and screening. Responsible for specific administrative and clerical functions of the department.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and facilitate HR systems, specifically in regard to volunteer vetting and staff engagement
  • Manage processing of all volunteer applications across New Life Congregations
  • Manage the volunteer background check process
  • Manage reference emails and calls for each volunteer applicant
  • Print volunteer and staff badges for each congregation as necessary
  • Assist congregations/departments during peak seasons in recruiting volunteers
  • Help to develop and implement HR policies and procedures when asked to do so
  • Coordinate and execute HR events, projects, training initiatives, and event programming by managing logistics, operational planning, and workflow processes to ensure seamless execution.
  • Maintain appropriate records
  • Participate in regular ongoing training with HRIS and ChMs to enhance skills and to keep current with program changes
  • Design and manage employee engagement programs and initiatives.
  • Coordinate and execute HR events, projects, training initiatives, and event programming by managing logistics, operational planning, and workflow processes to ensure seamless execution.
  • Champion employee recognition programs, including birthdays, anniversaries, service awards, and pillar awards.
  • Coordinate new staff orientation and supervisor training.
  • Organize employee events, wellness activities, and culture-building programs.
  • Update employee CCB profiles during onboarding and offboarding.
  • Manage ordering and distribution of NLC swag for onboarding, recognition, and events.
Other Responsibilities
  • Maintain confidentiality with sensitive individual data.
  • Manage and respond to calls and emails as needed.
  • Communicate regularly with supervisor about departmental issues.
  • Assist supervisor with special projects, events, and diverse tasks in support of the department.
  • Attend department meetings, regular all-staff meetings and other meetings as required.
  • Utilize a thorough understanding of New Life Church employee policies and procedures.
  • Work in close association with the entire staff to build and maintain a strong team environment.
  • Cooperate with leadership by performing any other duties when asked to do so.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstrated strong computer skills, including familiarity and experience with a variety of software applications, such as the MS Office suite of applications – Word, Access, Publisher, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Proficient with email and MS Outlook
  • Basic knowledge of Canva design tools for creating documents and marketing – event related materials.
  • Event programming and execution to include logistics and work process flow.
  • Possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills – Ability to verbally communicate effectively and tactfully at all levels
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relational connections with congregation, staff and new members
  • Understand and articulate the New Life Church vision and culture

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Education : High School or GED, some college preferred.

Experience: 4+ years of administrative or related work experience. Event planning experience preferred but not required.

Working Conditions and Requirements of Office Environment

  • Regularly required to sit and occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Close visual acuity to is necessary to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
