Job Title: New Life East Kids Ministry Support Staff - Classroom Lead

Department: New Life East

Reports to: Kids Director

Status: Part-Time | Hourly

Schedule: Sunday Evenings | 5-10 hours/month

Job Summary

To serve New Life Church by co-laboring with the Kids Ministry Team to provide a fun, safe, and edifying environment

at New Life East Kids with specific influence to how the classrooms are managed for small group meeting times on

Sunday evenings.

Duties and Responsibilities

Weekly:

• Report directly to Kids Director
• Lead and manage classrooms during evening/possible midweek events
  • Sunday nights. Possible Tuesday evenings.
  • Teach lessons when applicable
• Foster a sense of belonging/connection with children and families
• Uphold New Life Kids values, standards and language
• Assist in set-up and tear-down
• Support greater needs of the ministry when necessary
  • Hall monitor, classroom organization, cleaning toys, etc.

Other:

• Attend all required team meetings
• Demonstrate ongoing financial support of the ministry and mission of New Life Church
• Participate in additional meetings when requested.
• Work in close association with the entire staff to build and maintain a strong team environment and complete the work necessary to fully serve and support the ministries of New Life Church.
• Cooperate with the Kids Director by performing any other duties when asked to do so
• Be on time for designated shift
• Maintain a positive and respectful attitude
• Maintain confidentiality when discussing behavioral/specialized needs issues

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Assist the department in coordinating various tasks and procedures.
• Communicate regularly with supervisor about departmental issues.
• Assist supervisor with special projects, events, and diverse tasks in support of the department.
• Utilize a thorough understanding of the New Life Church employee policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate ongoing financial support for ministries of New Life Church.
• Be an active, participating member of New Life East; maintaining a lifestyle of prayer and personal growth in Christ
• Work in close association with the entire staff to build and maintain a strong team environment.
• Cooperate with leadership by performing any other duties when asked to do so.

Education and Experience

Education: High School Diploma or GED required

Experience: 1-2 years of related experience

Working Conditions and Requirements

Physical Demands:

• Regularly required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds.
• Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
• Close visual acuity to is necessary to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
