Job description

Anderson University is accepting applications for our Natural Sciences adjunct teaching pool. Adjunct Faculty are temporary, part-time positions hired each semester on an as-needed basis. Instructional responsibilities include:

2025-2026 seeking applicants for Biology

  • Meet scheduled classes contracted to teach. Facilitate a learning environment to promote student success.
  • Provide a syllabus for assigned course(s). Manages course content and requirements.
  • Maintain student records of attendance and grades according to establish academic schedule.
  • Evaluate of student work and complete course assessments.
  • Maintain frequent communication with students, department faculty and staff. This includes responding to email messages in a timely manner and communicating with students through the Canvas course. Aid students beyond scheduled class time to answer questions/provide assistance.
  • Submit required documentation to the Department Chair and/or Dean and attend required university meetings.
  • Consult with Department Chair/Dean to resolve concerns and issues with classes or individual students.

Master's Degree in relevant field of study required OR Bachelor's degree in the biology and minimum of 3 years relevant professional experienceย 

The applicant should provide a detailed CV, a cover letter describing their qualifications for teaching, and the areas for which they are qualified to teach.

Applicants will also provide copies of undergraduate and graduate transcripts, and complete the Anderson University Faculty Application.

Candidates should have belief in and commitment to Jesus Christ and the Christian faith as interpreted through the historic witness of the Bible and the ongoing ministry of the Holy Spirit. They should possess a vitality of Christian experience that is maturing in insight and application. Candidates must meet University lifestyle expectations.

This is a temporary, part-time, non-benefit eligible position. University services provided to regular faculty and staff are extended to adjunct faculty, including;
