Job description

Caesar Rodney Countywide Programs is currently seeking Paraprofessionals for the 2026-2027 school year to fulfill various needs in the building based on student enrollment, IEP's, programming and instruction. Positions may include Instructional Paraprofessional, Additional Support Paraprofessional, or other specific assignments, as detailed by administration, to support student achievement and well-being. All positions are full-time. This role may be offered on a temporary or permanent basis, depending on departmental needs and the timing of the hire.

This posting includes openings for Caesar Rodney Countywide Programs only. Positions will be assigned to John S. Charlton, Kent Elementary Intensive Learning Center, or various classroom locations throughout the District. 

QUALIFICATIONS: Individuals who currently hold or are eligible for an Instructional Paraeducator Permit are encouraged to apply.
REQUIREMENTS: To qualify for the permit, you must meet one of the following:

Option 1: 

  • Hold a high school diploma or recognized equivalent AND
  • Meet testing requirements by either:
    • Earning a qualifying score of 459 on the ParaPro Assessment (1755) (available through August 31, 2026), or
    • Achieving scores of 332 on ParaPathways: Reading and Writing (5758) and 334 on ParaPathways: Mathematics (5759)

Option 2:

  • Hold an associate degree or have completed a minimum of 60 semester hours from a regionally accredited institution, with a grade of "C" or better in each course

    (Final approval of accepted credits is determined by the Delaware Department of Education.)

  • Individuals must provide official transcripts, if applicable, updated resume, and three (3) letters of recommendation.
  • All persons employed by the Caesar Rodney School District are required to submit a criminal background check and a tuberculosis test.
  • Anyone offered employment is required to provide the following:  proper identification (Social Security Card and Driver's License), documentation of eligibility for employment in the U.S.A., completion of I-9 form, and completion of paperwork for the Delaware Child Protection Registry.
