Job description

Role:  Pipe Stress Mechanical Engineer
Duration - 2-3 months (Short Term)
Location: Houston,Tx preferred, Open to Remote 

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive flexibility and computational pipe stress analysis using Caesar II for various piping systems
  • Provide detailed markups on piping diagrams and isometrics to guide piping and structural designers
  • Specify pipe guides, anchors, supports, and alternative materials or suppliers to meet project schedules
  • Review and ensure the quality of 3D design work (Revit, Plant3D, CADWORX) by the Process Design Team, incorporating pipe stress analysis results
  • Generate bills of material for supports, guides, anchors, stops, flex joints, and expansion joints for procurement
  • Perform dynamic analyses, including slug flow, water hammer, and flange leakage checks, using Caesar II
  • Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for critical vessel junctions using FE Pipe or Nozzle Pro
  • Ensure compliance with ASME and ASTM codes

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in piping stress engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration
  • In-depth knowledge of ASME piping codes (B31.3)
  • Expert proficiency in Caesar II for pipe stress analysis and Nozzle Pro for allowable nozzle loads
