Job description

Job Title: Piping Stress & Systems Engineer
Role Overview
We are seeking a Piping Stress & Systems Engineer to support the design, analysis, and verification of complex piping systems for large-scale industrial and commercial facilities. You will be responsible for ensuring the structural integrity of piping systems under various operating conditions, bridging the gap between theoretical stress analysis and on-site constructability.
This is a dynamic role for a mechanical engineer who enjoys both "deep-dive" analytical work and hands-on field verification. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, working closely with designers and project leads to deliver high-quality engineering solutions for critical infrastructure projects. If you have a passion for piping systems and want to develop your expertise in a collaborative, mentorship-rich environment, this is an ideal role for you.
Key Responsibilities
Analysis & Design Engineering
• Stress Analysis: Perform detailed pipe stress analysis using industry-standard software to ensure system reliability under thermal, seismic, and operational loads.
• Support Design: Engineer robust pipe support systems that balance technical requirements with constructability.
• Technical Quality: Maintain accountability for the technical accuracy and quality of your engineering deliverables, ensuring all designs align with the project scope, budget, and schedule.
Collaboration & Field Execution
• Site Verification: Conduct regular field visits (at least 2 days per week on-site) to perform verifications, address construction challenges, and ensure the design matches the physical reality of the site.
• Cross-Disciplinary Coordination: Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, including mechanical, structural, and BIM/CAD specialists, to integrate piping systems into the broader facility design.
• Client & Team Liaison: Act as a technical bridge between engineering and construction teams. Provide clear, concise communication to navigate complex site conditions and project requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or a closely related discipline).
• Experience Baseline: Minimum of two (2) years of professional engineering experience.
• Technical Mastery: Working knowledge of pipe stress analysis and the design of support systems for industrial/commercial piping.
• Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills; the ability to work effectively with others while on-site.
Preferred Attributes
• Hands-on experience working in active construction environments (performing field verifications).
• Proficiency in industry-standard stress analysis tools (e.g., AutoPIPE, Caesar II) and design platforms (e.g., AutoCAD, Navisworks).
• A proactive, "curious" mindset: Someone who looks beyond the screen to understand how their design will actually be installed in the field.
