  • Assist with sales tax filings and other bookkeeping-related reporting when needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive client and financial information.

Qualifications

  • Previous professional bookkeeping experience is required.
  • Strong hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online is required.
  • Experience managing or supporting books for multiple businesses or clients is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of bank reconciliations, balance sheets, general ledgers, and month-end closing procedures.
  • Ability to identify bookkeeping errors and determine how to correct them.
  • Experience cleaning up disorganized or inaccurate QuickBooks files is highly preferred.
  • Accounts payable and accounts receivable experience.
  • Sales tax filing experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable researching solutions and utilizing available resources.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Professional, dependable, positive, and team-oriented.
  • Strong commitment to client service.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is someone who takes initiative and does not need step-by-step instructions for every task. This person should be able to review a client’s books, recognize when something does not look right, research the issue, and work toward an accurate solution.

The company is looking for someone who genuinely cares about clients, takes pride in producing clean and accurate work, and can adapt to different businesses and bookkeeping needs.

Experience working with nonprofits, construction, agriculture, real estate, professional services, or other small businesses is a plus.
