S&D Professional Services Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeping Assistant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will assist with bookkeeping, payroll processing, financial recordkeeping, and client account management. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, excellent customer service, and the ability to work in a fast-paced professional office environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Enter and categorize financial transactions accurately in QuickBooks Online.
  • Reconcile bank, credit card, and loan accounts.
  • Assist with monthly bookkeeping and financial reporting.
  • Assist with payroll processing and maintain payroll records.
  • Assist with the preparation and review profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
  • Assist with sales tax reporting and payroll tax filings.
  • Organize and maintain client financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Communicate with clients regarding bookkeeping requests and missing documentation.
  • Assist with year-end tax preparation by gathering and organizing financial information.
  • Assist with reviewing transactions for accuracy and identify discrepancies.
  • Scan, upload, and maintain electronic client files.
  • Perform administrative duties and other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of bookkeeping, accounting, payroll, or office administration experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
Preferred:
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online and/or QuickBooks Desktop.
  • Experience processing payroll.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Experience working in a tax, bookkeeping, accounting, or professional services office.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
