TEMPORARY Professional GT Support Services  


Job Title: TEMPORARY Professional GT Support Services Reports To: Building Principal and Advanced Academic Studies Director Classification: Temporary Wage/Hour Status: Exempt Days: Start Date: To Be Determined Salary: See Compensation Plan - Temporary Contract: None Date Revised: 8/27/2025 Primary Purpose: Responsible for assisting the Advanced Academic Studies department, as needed, including GT testing and/or implementation of campus gifted programs in a manner that fosters the maximum growth of each student. Qualifications/Skills:

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
  • Valid Texas Teacher Certificate or Teaching Certificate from out of state appropriate for position preferred.

Special Knowledge/Skills: 

  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Insightful, flexible, and creative
  • Proficient in the effective use of technology.
  • Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
  • Fluent in English (speaking and writing).  
  • Bilingual a plus.
Major Duties and
Responsibilities:

Instructional Strategies:

  • Assist campus personnel with implementing on-campus PGP program, making necessary accommodations for differences in student learning style.
  • Assist Advanced Academics Department and campuses personnel with GT testing
  • Work cooperatively with staff members to determine assessment goals, objectives and methods according to district requirements.

Student Growth and Development: 

  • Be a positive role model for students and support the mission of school district.

Classroom Management and Organization: 

  • Create classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social and emotional development of students. Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities. Assist in the selection of books, equipment and other instructional materials.

Communication: 

  • Establish and maintain open communication. Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents and community members.
  • Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.

Professional Growth and Development: 

  • Compile, maintain and file all physical and computerizes reports, records and other documents required.

Other:

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

None Equipment Used: Computer, ACTIV Board, copy machine and audio- visual machines. Working Conditions:

Mental Demands:

  • Maintain emotional control under stress.
  • Work with frequent interruptions.
  • This position requires regular in-person interaction with the public.

Physical Demands: 

  • Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing.
  • Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desk and other classroom equipment.
