Job description

AI Project Manager

Onsite 2-3 days week

We are seeking an AI Project Manager to lead the adoption and enablement of AI across the organization. This role will work closely with business and technology leaders to identify opportunities where AI can improve efficiency, reduce costs, enhance decision-making, and improve business processes.

The ideal candidate can translate business needs into practical AI initiatives, build stakeholder buy-in, and drive projects from concept through implementation and adoption. This is a highly collaborative role working across IT, Finance, HR, Legal, Procurement, and other business functions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead AI initiatives from idea and business case through implementation, adoption, and ongoing improvement.

  • Partner with business leaders to identify opportunities where AI can improve productivity, automate processes, reduce costs, and increase business efficiency.

  • Build support and buy-in among executives, business leaders, subject matter experts, and technology teams.

  • Translate business challenges and requirements into actionable AI use cases, projects, and implementation plans.

  • Develop and execute AI training, enablement, and change-management programs to increase adoption across the organization.

  • Serve as the connection point between business stakeholders, IT, data, security, legal, and AI/technology teams.

  • Coordinate AI initiatives across IT, Finance, HR, Legal, Procurement, and other corporate functions.

  • Evaluate proposed AI use cases and help prioritize initiatives based on business value, feasibility, risk, and organizational readiness.

  • Partner with Security, Risk, Legal, and Compliance teams on AI risk assessments, governance, privacy, security, and responsible use.

  • Establish project plans, milestones, success metrics, communication plans, and executive reporting for AI initiatives.

  • Help develop standards, processes, and governance for the evaluation and adoption of AI technologies.

  • Monitor AI adoption and business outcomes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

  • Stay current on emerging AI capabilities and identify practical applications that can benefit the business.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management, program management, business transformation, technology, or related experience.

  • Experience leading technology or AI initiatives involving multiple business functions and stakeholders.

  • Strong understanding of AI, generative AI, automation, and emerging enterprise AI technologies.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into technology initiatives and actionable project plans.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to gain executive and business-unit buy-in.

  • Experience with training, enablement, change management, or technology adoption programs.

  • Experience working with Security, Risk, Legal, Compliance, or Privacy teams on technology assessments is strongly preferred.

  • Strong communication, presentation, organization, and project management skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Experience in a retail environment is highly desirable.

Key Attributes

  • Business-focused and able to identify where AI can deliver measurable value.

  • Comfortable educating and influencing stakeholders at all levels.

  • Able to bridge the gap between business teams and technical AI teams.

  • Practical approach to AI adoption rather than technology for technology's sake.

  • Strong understanding of organizational change and user adoption.

  • Comfortable operating in a rapidly changing AI environment.
